Kevin Bacon’s Liquid Hoof Dressing For the past couple of years, we’ve been the New Zealand distributor for the Kevin Bacon’s Hoof Care range.

The flagship product in the range is Kevin Bacon’s Liquid Hoof Dressing.

Made in Belgium from 100% natural ingredients, Kevin Bacon’s is the crème de la crème of hoof care products and endorsed by some of the best riders and farriers around the world. Having recommended the hoof dressing to our clients for the past two years, we’ve seen the improvements in hoof quality time and time again. It’s the perfect product to help protect the hoof and keep it supple – allowing the optimal function of the hoof wall and associated structures.

Kevin Bacon’s Liquid Hoof Dressing is available in 1 litre and ½ litre tins and comes with a handy brush inside the cap for easy application. This applicator brush helps prevent messy sloppy tins as with other products. Kevin Bacon’s is recommended for daily application on the outer hoof wall from the ground surface up to the coronary band just below the hairline. Applying to the soles and frog on healthy feet is also recommended (with its sister product Kevin Bacon’s Hoof Solution used on less healthy frogs – thrush for example).

In a multitude of conditions – from very wet to very dry – Kevin Bacon’s Liquid Hoof Dressing can help to stabilise the moisture content of the hooves when used regularly. Very wet hooves can become soft and crumbly whist excessively dry hooves may become brittle with splits and cracks. Both extremes can cause a number of hoof problems and this may be exacerbated by a rapid swing in climate from dry to wet or vice-versa. Using Kevin Bacon’s daily can help regulate the moisture content and prevent some of the hoof problems.

Yes he is and a very successful one too (I particularly enjoyed Apollo 13 the other evening on telly). However, Kevin Bacon in this case is the Australian showjumper who first discovered the benefits of the hoof dressing some years ago.
